Lately

Things at our house are hum-drum and wonderfully ordinary.  We wake up, eat, drink coffee (well at least mom & dad do), play, nap (although, someone appears to think naps are overrated these days), sew, run errands, get creative with dinner, play, eat & read, bathe & go to bed.

There are other little things mixed into that schedule, of course as well, but all in all this seems to be how many of our days take shape and I love it!

I managed to snap a few images of bob & ephram playing with bob's duck this morning.  E love his buddy bob :)  I love watching him grow & interact & develop his personality more & more.

Oh & did I mention that little man is on the move?  It's quite exciting and keep this mommy on her toes.

Thankfully, one of his favorite things to do is to crawl to wherever I am so that definitely keeps the question of "where did Ephram go?" down to a minimum.

We've also had lots of snow lately & though it is finally starting to melt off, we have a long way to go.  I think we got about 20" in the span of 5 days!  Brrrrrr....

B even had to walk to work on two different occasions.

Bob didn't seem to mind all the snow though.  I think he discovered his roots this past month :)

adventures of the bobster

Hi everybody!  Bob here.  Mom let me take over for her while she's away.  She said I could write about anything I wanted to, so I thought I would tell you about a great adventure I had this week.

One night, mom surprised me & talked me into taking a ride.  Sometimes I get a little nervous riding in that big
thing on wheels, but once we get moving and she lets me put my head outside, oh man that's fun.

Mom, she's great.  I thought getting to stick my head out the window was good, but it just got better and better.  Once she let me out of the car, she led me into this big gated area with some big blue swirls in the air and a floor covered with this wet stuff.  The best part though was that I saw SO many of my people there.  You know, dogs.  It was like, all the people brought their dogs to the same place at the same time and we got to do WHATEVER we wanted.

Mom of course, tried to get me to go into that wet stuff, but that was pretty silly of her.  She knows I'm made for snow.

Mom also says I'm quite the ladies man.

Once my mom stopped trying to throw me into the wet stuff (I put up a good fight), I got to prance run around the big area, sniffing other dogs, marking my areas, picking on the little guys, making friends, oh and occasionally giving my mom a kiss.

It was awesome.

When you take your family to the city...

Barbecue, sight seeing& museums are all a must.

But when it's 100+ degrees outside, you can throw all that out the window because, cold & delicious ice cream trumps even the best of them.

So you can venture to guess, on our first outing we skipped over all the tourist sights & eateries & just went straight to dessert...gourmet ice cream.
I'm not a super-fan of ice cream in general, but this gourmet ice cream shop was well worth the trip.  I ventured out of my comfort zone & paired Goat Cheese & Wildflower Honey ice cream with Raspberry sorbet and it was WON.DER.FUL.

A few days before my family flew out, I found out that my 85 year old grandmother would be able to join us for the trip!  Such a sweet surprise & blessing.  Isn't she just beautiful?

After we fueled up with ice cream, we did in fact go to one of the museums...I promise we did actually tour it.  Although, I'm not sure if my family is the best at museum-ing.  We may have renamed a few pieces of art with names like "Buffalo Turds", and of course there is the adolescent giggling that we just couldn't seem to contain.    No wonder I have no recollection of touring museums as a kid...

Here are a couple of our more tame moments, captured:

We eventually did get to the barbecue, and ate at one of the best:  Jack Stack's.  What made this outing even sweeter was getting to meet up with dear friends.  Stellar company + great barbecue made for one fantastic evening.

We also made our way to Oklahoma Joe's, visited some Amish farms, went biking & walking with the Bobster !  Like true family, they even endured a trip to a vegan restaurant just to indulge me.  True love, I tell ya.

And, what I'm sure was their favorite moment: they got to meet their grand dog, Bob.  Bob loved all his new family members, but had a particularly special affection for Mom'O. He barely left her side the entire trip & loooved to nuzzle up against her like I've never seen him do before.  There was definitely a special little bond formed there.  :)

Bob sends kisses your way & lots of love...especially to you, Mom'O.

A Carter Weekend

As some of you know, Ben's mom & brother came to visit us last weekend.  It was such a blessing to have family come visit us in our new home.  The weekend can pretty much be summed up in three words:
 Lighthearted. Relaxing. Coffee.
Ok, a lot of delicious food was involved too, so maybe I can't sum it up so easily, but the combination of all these things for a very memorable visit :)
Hope you enjoy a few pictures of our weekend fun!

my three tall family members. we walked pretty much the whole trip.  it's a must when you eat a lot of good food.

our first coffee pit stop...one of many :)

sweet pictures of the reflection of an airplane in our siphoned cup of coffee.  yes siphoned.  look it up.

If you haven't already surmised from the picture of that tired pup, it was a pretty fun & event-filled weekend.

A few highlights:  tasting all the best coffees in the area, homemade eucalyptus mint candles, priceless & sweet time with family, good bbq, finding a toms store, long walks & movies at night, finding a local restaurant & tea shop that makes my heart {and tummy} happy.

Impromptu Family Pics

Ben & I had a GREAT time with his family this weekend {more on that later}. As it was one of the few times when we actually looked semi-coordinated AND had someone around to even take a picture, we couldn't pass up the opportunity.  I think the last time we actually took posed pictures together was for our engagement over THREE years ago! yeesh.

So, enjoy a few of our "impromptu" family pics, compliments of Cam Carter.

Oh & its REALLY hard to get a dog to pose for a picture.  Bob is definitely not meant to be a doggie model.

Of course, this is how most of the pictures turned out. :)

Bob kept wanting to show us his behind, rather than his face.  Silly pup.

bob {update}

Hey guys! It's me Bob, back for a little update. See these pictures? Thats not snow you see on the ground. Its getting a lot warmer over here & you know what that means--I'm losing my hair!  Mom says I shed A LOT.  She brushes me outside about every day.  Mom & dad can't believe the amount of hair they brush off me daily, so they took some pictures of me to prove it.

Mom & I got to watch a little baby the other day.  I did a real good job babysitting, Mom said so.  I kept wanting to kiss him, but Mom didn't think that was a good idea.
So I just sat here and watched Mom hold him, while he made little noises & wiggled his little feet.
  It was so much fun.

Thats most of what I've been up to, other than the usual romping, eating & taking walks with Mom.
Life is good. ;)

Bob's Got a Girlfriend

Yes that's right.  In God's divine wisdom, He found us some wonderful friends who live just a block away from us who also have a Husky.  Her name is Keco (short for Kevin Costner).  See? It really is divine, they both have ridiculous names, no where near suited for a Husky.

Bob & Keco like to go for playdates & walks together.  Keco still has to wear a muzzle--being a woman she can get a little "moody" at times, but don't be fooled, she and Bob are meant to be.  *wink*

Here's a pic of the two romping around in the snow.  Oh, yea it snowed last week...Monday, I think?  and a few days later it was 70 degrees.  Weird weather is one thing Missouri & Texas have in common.

And Bob...couldn't resist this one: he's always got that long, silly tongue hanging out.

Now wish me luck; I'm taking him to the vet today & I have a sneaking suspicion he's not going to like it.

{meet bob}

Hi, my name is Bob, I am a really handsome husky & am almost one year old.  A few days ago, my new mom & dad saw my ad in the newspaper and tried to adopt me.

My foster parents had to tell them that they had just given me away to another family.   :(   Mom & dad were really sad that they had lost their one chance at getting the dog of their dreams (I'm quite a catch, ya know).  Little did I know, that my new mom (I think her name is Ashley, or something like that) started praying that it wouldn't work out between me & the other family.  She prayed that somehow I would get to come home to live with her & dad.

Well, guess what?!  GOD IS GOOD & He heard my mom's prayer. I hear He is in the business of doing that sort of thing.  My foster mom came & rescued me from what was not a good situation & to my utter dog delight, placed me in a home with Ben & Ashley.  Now I have a big back yard, I can go running with my dad, Ben & can take long walks with my mom (she's not much of a runner).  I am having so much fun sniffing out my new family & running up and down stairs & all around the yard.  On my walks, I like to pull my mom around, sorta in a zig zag pattern--it's fun to watch her trip on herself.

Welp, that's me.  I'm Bob.  Now off to mark my territory ;)
